eat pray love by elizabeth gilbert

So it has been a looong time since I’ve had a moment to sit down and read. As a new mom (my daughter is nearly 1 year old, Im still considered “new” right??) When I do find myself with free moments (which amazingly seem to get fewer and fewer ) it isn’t my highest priority to pick up a book and start reading. Sometimes I just like to shower. Or go running (another goal of mine). But, admittedly, often I’m watching TV. It’s just easier to get interrupted that way I guess :)

However, I’ve decided to make some time, some needed ME time, and read. Even if just an hour a week. I started a local book club a little more than two years ago and it’s been months since I have attended a meeting, much less read the book of the month.

But, that said, I found my way to Barnes and Noble the other day and picked up “Eat Pray Love“. It seems this book has gotten a lot of publicity recently (actually a LOT of publicity, everyone seemed to be reading this book over the summer!) and I thought this might be a good read, one that would encourage my new new goal.

I’ve nearly just begun but it’s already quite good. I am already recommending it to my friends. It isn’t often that I am intrigued when I begin a book, my attention span is quite short. I’m not normally ADD-like, but I definitely CAN be with books if they don’t grab me within the first two or three pages. This one, however, has piqued my interest, and so , if you find youself in the mood for a read, give it a shot, read along with me..and post a comment as to how you are liking it (or not!) …

gotta run, my blackberry is in my daughter’s hands yet again..and who knows who she is unknowingly calling with the taps of her tiny little fingers..(yesterday it was the dentist’s office)…
